Frequently asked questions
Is anti-scratch coating included in the price?
Anti-scratch coating is included as standard on all 1.50 index lenses at no extra cost. On 1.60, 1.67 and 1.74 index lenses, anti-reflective (MAR) coating is included as standard, and anti-scratch is available as an additional upgrade during checkout.
Does anti-scratch coating make lenses completely scratch-proof?
No coating makes a lens completely scratch-proof. Anti-scratch coating significantly reduces the likelihood and severity of surface scratches from everyday use — but lenses can still scratch if subjected to sharp or abrasive contact. Proper care, including using a microfibre cloth and lens case, is still recommended.
Can I add anti-scratch coating alongside other coatings?
Yes. Anti-scratch coating can be combined with other coatings such as anti-reflective (MAR), blue light filter, transition or sunglass tint. Select your preferred combination at the coating step during checkout.
What is the difference between anti-scratch and anti-reflective coating?
Anti-scratch coating protects the lens surface from physical abrasion and everyday wear. Anti-reflective (MAR) coating reduces glare from light sources such as screens and headlights. They serve different purposes and can be used together — anti-scratch on the lens surface and anti-reflective on top of it.
Is anti-scratch coating available on varifocal and bifocal lenses?
Yes. Anti-scratch coating is available on all lens types — single vision, varifocal (all four packages), bifocal and non-prescription lenses. It is included as standard on 1.50 index lenses and available as an upgrade on higher indexes.
